Kelli Ellis and Jaye Anna Mize

Anticipation and excitement filled Showplace 1200 as guests arrived for the Kelli Ellis Collection x Sunpan launch event at the Spring High Point Market.

“There was a little bit of glam, a little bit of unexpected -- and great details. That’s Kelli,” said guest and Chaise Lounge Podcast host, Nick May. “There’s a shift in home furnishings that’s going into a modern aesthetic.”

The Sunpan showroom was transformed into a chic penthouse with teal walls, covered with murals and art highlighting Kelli Ellis’s sketches. As they were seated among the 20 piece collection that featured occasional tables and seating, guests were also treated to fun swag bags that included red hot candy lips, Kelli Ellis branded notepads and adorable mini sparkling rosé as the collection was unveiled.

During the event, Ellis and Jaye Anna Mize, Fashion Snoops VP of Home Interiors, hosted a discussion building on topics from a trend forecast talk that was previously hosted in the Sunpan showroom during the Fall High Point Market.

Ellis went into detail on how many of those trends (curves, reflection, softness, and more) influenced the designs and how they were incorporated in the new collection.

For example, a major trend that carries through the Kelli Ellis Collection x Sunpan is softness. The pair explored how materials, surfaces and edges “can offer just the right antidote to the abrasiveness of daily life” as people are constantly interacting with technology.

Another trend discussed was reflection and how it symbolizes the importance of how one connects to oneself, “to see beyond what is obvious.” This trend was represented through the use of mirrors and glass in Ellis’s occasional table designs.

The collection features occasional seating and occasional tables designed with a fusion of femininity and retro style. Some standout features in this collection are beautiful details like ruching, on-trend colours and performance fabric covers.

“The line was fresh and something different I haven’t seen in Sunpan,” said May after the launch event. “I think Kelli does a great job being connected to the next generation.”

Following the launch event, guests were invited to stay for the Sunpan Garden Party with entertainment from Tulani, DJ Medicineman and vodka provided by Social House.
