The fervour and energy that filled this year’s market was tangible, as both buyers and designers arrived in droves to see what was on trend for the upcoming season.
In Showplace 1200, breakfast was served bright and early and the wine was flowing merrily from our fabulous (dare we say famous?) bar. We welcomed more buyers than ever, delighted to see a mix of familiar faces and new designers scoping out our new collections, including 5West and Ikon.
Concrete: A Market Favourite
This year, market attendees took particular interest in our MIXT collection, a group of furnishings for which a combination of materials was used to radiate a rustic-meets-industrial design that is extremely appealing to the modern buyer.
Concrete sold notably well this season and if there were a designated “belle of the ball”, our Langley collection would have been crowned the uncontested winner. Each piece, from sideboard to console, was acknowledged as a highlight of our spectacular showroom.
Brass is best
At last year’s market, we saw the eruption of rose gold and products like our seductive Rialto Chair causing quite the stir in home design.
Our prediction for 2016? Brass is going to be big. Some of the biggest sales we saw stemming from High Point moved towards a speciality collection coming from a manufacturer that uses a bronze finish in much of his work. We’re ecstatic to see the collection getting so much attention. Here’s a sneak peak:
Our Favourite Market Moment
One of the highlights of High Point is socializing with old friends and making new ones over endless glasses of wine!
On Sunday, Kelli Ellis and Lori Dennis of Design Campus, joined the Sunpan team for a drink (or two), noticed a newly purchased GoPro in the corner of the room and then, well, this happened:
With that, we saw “Cheers!” to another High Point success and look forward to what Las Vegas has in store.
