Make Way for Greenery - 2017 Colour of the Year

We’re saying good-bye to Serenity and Rose Quartz and getting ready to welcome this year’s new colour - Greenery! The zesty shade is described as a "tangy yellow-green" often seen in flourishing foliage, hence its name. The colour authority Pantone predicts it will be incorporated into home décor trends, fashion and more in the year to come.

“Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.” ~ Lee Eisemann, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute

Bringing the Great Green Outdoors Indoor

Green is the first colour that comes to mind when thinking about nature, so it should come as no surprise that this refreshing take on the vibrant hue speaks to our need to explore, experiment and reinvent.

How to use Greenery

There are many ways to integrate Greenery to any space. Punch up a modern and urban setting with a pop of colour from a throw to a decorative pillow; Or go the simpler route by opting for some potted plants that truly reflect the hue.

Although Greenery is considered a vibrant colour it truly lends itself to be mixed and combined with deeper shades, pastels and metallics. Listed below are some Pantone combinations, which contain Greenery.

  • Deep Shades - grape, bronze, olive or Sequoia

  • Pastels - lilac, baby blue, pale yellow or soft grey

  • Earthenware - terracotta, copper, mahogany, and burnt umber
